Terms of Service

Acceptance

By accessing or using 411press.com (“the Site”), you accept these Terms of Service. If you do not accept them, do not use the Site.

What 411 Press is

411 Press is an independent national news publication covering labor, industrial safety, and workplace accountability. The beat includes plant explosions, mining accidents, rail derailments, refinery incidents, warehouse fatalities, OSHA enforcement, labor disputes, and the corporate accountability stories that follow. The site also runs a reference section on product recalls, mass tort litigation as ongoing news coverage, and state-by-state worker-safety information.

More on the publication, its editors, and how the work is produced: About 411 Press.

Editorial policy and sources

411 Press reports from primary sources. For the safety and accountability beat, that includes the NTSB, CSB, OSHA, MSHA, NIOSH, CPSC, FDA, NHTSA, USDA, BLS, court records, MDL dockets, agency notices, and named witnesses. Stories link to the source so readers can read the original document directly. When a story is still developing and details are incomplete, the article says so.

If a published article contains a factual error, the site corrects it and notes the correction. Send corrections to the contact address below.

User contributions

The only reader-contribution channel on 411 Press is the newsletter signup. The Site does not host reader comments or forums. Story tips and source documents can be sent to the contact address below; the sender retains all rights in any material submitted, and the Site may decline to publish.

Accuracy and corrections

The Site is produced on a working news cadence. The editors make best efforts to verify what is published, but do not guarantee that every article is complete, current, or free of error. Recall data, agency-enforcement data, and litigation data drawn from federal sources may not reflect the latest agency updates at every moment. When an error is identified, the Site corrects it and notes the correction inline.

No legal advice

411 Press publishes news reporting on labor, industrial safety, workplace accountability, lawsuits, and government enforcement actions. This reporting is journalism. It is not legal advice. 411 Press is not a law firm, and reading the Site does not create an attorney-client relationship with anyone. Readers evaluating a legal claim, or seeking advice about their own situation, should consult a licensed attorney in their jurisdiction.

Third-party links

Articles link out to primary sources — government agencies, court dockets, news organizations, company filings, and other publications. The Site does not control the content of any linked third-party page and is not responsible for it. Outbound links are factual references, not endorsements.

Intellectual property

Original reporting, analysis, photography, and graphics published on 411 Press are the property of 411 Press and are protected by copyright. Standard fair use applies. Republication requests can be sent to the contact address below. Material drawn from federal agencies remains in the public domain; commentary and analysis added by 411 Press does not.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Site and the content on it are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. 411 Press makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the Site or its content, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, 411 Press shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site, or from any information obtained through the Site, including reliance on any published article, dataset, or outbound link.

Indemnity

By using the Site, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless 411 Press, its editors, and its contributors from any claim, demand, or expense arising from your misuse of the Site or your violation of these Terms.

User conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use automated tools to scrape or crawl the Site in a manner that degrades performance for other readers
  • Attempt to interfere with the Site's functionality or security
  • Use the Site for any unlawful purpose

Governing law
