CPSC Recalls 254,000 Joyin Sloosh Dive Sticks Over Impalement Hazard
The CPSC recalled about 254,000 Sloosh dive sticks in Joyin water toy packages on June 11, 2026. The sticks violate the federal dive sticks ban and pose an impalement hazard in shallow water. Consumers should stop use immediately and contact Joyin for a free replacement.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of about 254,000 Sloosh dive sticks sold in Joyin-brand water toy packages on June 11, 2026, citing an impalement hazard.
The recalled products are the dive sticks contained in Sloosh water toys packages (model 40041), recalled by Joyin US Corp of Chandler, Arizona. Each package contains 30 pieces, including five cylinder-shaped hard-plastic dive sticks.
The hazard
The dive sticks violate the federal dive sticks ban because they exceed the compress limit set by the CPSC. In shallow water, a child can fall or land on a submerged stick and be seriously injured. Facial and eye injuries are also possible when children swim down to retrieve the sticks, according to the CPSC notice.
The CPSC's recall notice did not report any injuries associated with the recalled sticks.
What to do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled dive sticks and contact Joyin for a free replacement.
