Workbless Recalls About 2,200 Electric Pressure Washers That Lack a Built-In GFCI

CPSC recalled about 2,200 Workbless electric pressure washers, models WB0301 and WB0302, because they lack a built-in ground-fault circuit interrupter and an adequate-length power cord — a combination that poses shock and electrocution risks. Owners should stop using the washer, cut the unplugged power cord in half, and email a photo for a full refund.

About 2,200 Workbless electric pressure washers have been recalled because they lack a built-in ground-fault circuit interrupter and an adequate-length power cord, posing a risk of serious injury or death from shock and electrocution. The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall on Aug. 20. Another 657 were sold in Canada.

No injuries have been reported.

The hazard

Two missing things, working together.

A ground-fault circuit interrupter watches the current going out to a tool and the current coming back. When some of it goes somewhere else — through water, through a damaged cord, through a person — the GFCI cuts power. CPSC's notice says these washers lack an "integral" GFCI — one built into the product itself, rather than left to whatever outlet the owner happens to plug into.

The second defect is the cord itself, and it is why the missing GFCI matters so much. Health Canada's parallel notice on the same washers spells out the pathway: the power cord "is too short which may encourage the use of an extension cord, posing a risk of an electric shock hazard." Someone washing a driveway or a truck reaches the end of a short cord, plugs into an extension cord to get farther out, and now there is an additional set of connections lying in the same wet area — with no GFCI anywhere in the chain to shut the current off.

So the practical warning is not only "stop using it." It is also: do not solve the short-cord problem with an extension cord. Take the refund.

The recalled models

Both models are green and black, with the model name printed on a label on the back of the unit.

ModelLabel on the backApproximate size
WB0301"WORKBLESS," "WB0301," "ELECTRIC PRESSURE WASHER"27.24 in. high, 10.83 in. wide, 8.39 in. deep
WB0302"WORKBLESS," "WB0302," "HEAVY DUTY ELECTRIC PRESSURE WASHER"29.57 in. high, 14.69 in. wide, 10.94 in. deep

Both came with four quick-connect nozzles and a foam cannon.

They were sold at Amazon.com, Best Buy, Kohl's, Lowe's, Overstock, Target and Walmart from April 2025 through July 2026 for between $97 and $140. The recalling firm is Guangzhou Ao Lian Ya Wang Luo Ke Ji You Xian Gong Si, doing business as Workbless, of China.

What to do

Stop using the pressure washer immediately.

  1. Unplug the pressure washer.
  2. Cut the unplugged power cord in half to destroy the unit.
  3. Photograph the destroyed unit showing the cut cord.
  4. Email the photo to service@workbless.net to receive a full refund.
  5. Dispose of the destroyed washer after sending the photo.

Workbless customer service is at 833-725-3151, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific time, Monday through Friday, and the company's recall page is at workbless.net/recall.

Anyone who has been shocked by one of these washers should report it to CPSC at SaferProducts.gov.

Missing or inadequate electrical protection has driven a run of CPSC actions on cheap imported consumer electronics: the agency recalled Casely power banks after a death and a series of fires and about 1.5 million OCOOPA rechargeable hand warmers after a death and roughly 350 burn injuries.
