Worker Killed at Loading Dock of Chatham Village Foods Facility in Wareham, Massachusetts

A 56-year-old worker died Wednesday morning at the Chatham Village Foods facility in Wareham, Massachusetts, after being pinned between a tractor-trailer and a loading dock.

Wareham police received a call at 9:43 a.m. at 20 Kendrick Road. The worker was pronounced dead at 9:54 a.m. His identity had not been released as of initial reports.

Investigation

Wareham police, Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services, the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, and State Police Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement are investigating the incident. The Plymouth County District Attorney's office and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration were also notified.

The State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section investigates fatal crashes and incidents involving commercial vehicles to determine the movement sequence and circumstances of the impact.

The death follows other recent loading-dock fatalities covered by 411 Press, including a worker killed at a UPS hub in Horsham, Pennsylvania and a worker killed at a Rivian warehouse in Illinois.
