Perry Anderson, 65, Killed in Electrocution at SAFE Industries Facility in Piedmont, South Carolina

Perry Ernest Anderson, 65, of Easley, South Carolina, was killed in an electrocution at SAFE Industries in Piedmont on August 7. The Anderson County Coroner ruled the cause of death electrocution, the manner accidental. OSHA has opened an investigation.

Perry Ernest Anderson, 65, of Easley, South Carolina, was killed in an electrocution at SAFE Industries, an equipment supplier in Piedmont, on August 7.

Anderson County first responders were called to the facility on Highway 86 at approximately 2:45 p.m. Anderson was found unresponsive on a scissor lift and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cause of Death

The Anderson County Coroner's Office ruled the cause of death electrocution. The manner of death was ruled accidental.

Investigation

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration opened an investigation into the incident, according to a report published August 11 by Fox Carolina.

The death follows other recent workplace fatalities 411 Press has covered, including a worker killed at a Chatham Village Foods loading dock in Wareham, Massachusetts and UAW member James Brasher, killed in a fall at a Stellantis Mopar facility in Center Line, Michigan.
